The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to Saul Perlmutter, Brian Schmidt and Adam Riess, “for the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the Universe through observations of distant supernovae”. In short, they have, through scientific exploration, proven that the furthest edges of the universe are continually accelerating outwards. Neat stuff! You can read more about it here.
